Why should I choose Great Lengths for my hair extensions?Great Lengths is the system that has become the standard by which all other extension systems are judged. This still unrivaled system produces results simply not possible with any other system. Only heated on one side, the applicator is about the same temperature as the lowest setting on a standard curling iron. This softens the bond so it can be molded to your natural hair. Unlike other systems, where glue guns and wax melting pots are used, the Great Lengths applicator allows for a very clean and precise application. The result is undetectable attachments that are non-damaging to your natural strands. Great Lengths USA has the most rigid requirements for certification in the industry. The mandatory certification course is on average 3 times longer than any other extension brand in the professional market. Further, there are only a handful of extension brands that even require education as most companies position their training as an option, but not necessary. In other cases, there are companies whose training consists of nothing more than a 20 minute how-to video or online "certification", where the trainee has no hands-on learning experience or the eyes of a seasoned hair extension educator to evaluate their work and correct where necessary.

Does it damage my hair? No, because it uses a keratin bond. In 1992, Great Lengths International created and patented the "Synthesized Keratin Protein Polymer" bond for the application of hair extensions. In short, the GLI bonds molecular structure mimics that of human hair so that it possesses the same characteristics of human hair. When applied and maintained properly, the application will not damage your hair. The skill level of the stylists is crucial for a damage free application and this is why Great Lengths Certified Stylists are the most sought after by extension clients worldwide. The key to a successful, damage free application lies in the details of the application. There is no "cookie cutter", "one size fits all" application technique, as each client has different hair conditions and desired results that must be considered.

How much does it cost to get Great Lengths?Great Lengths Service cost can vary greatly from client to client because each is truly a custom service. Applications may start as little as $500 and increase according to the complexity of your service determined by the look you wish to achieve. Before the application process, we conduct a personal consultation.
-
How do I get started?About one week before you wish to schedule your service, we set up a personal consultation. In this consultation, we first talk about the look you want to achieve, discuss the Great Length process, analyze the condition of your hair and select the bond color(s) that will best blend with your current hair color.
-
How long does the process take?Because everyone's hair varies in texture and thickness and whether you are lengthening, thickening or both, the application process can be anywhere from an hour and a half to more than six hours.
-
How do I care for my Great Lengths extensions?Easy! Just shampoo, condition, blow dry and style as normal. Flat irons and curling irons work great with extensions as long as you keep away from the bonds. In terms of choosing your hair care products, I recommend Great Lengths products because they are specially formulated for extensions- this will extend the life of your extensions. However, all products in my salon are compatible with GL extensions.
-
How often do I need to get extensions? We recommend removal every 3 to 4 months, depending upon the type of application performed (i.e. lengthening, volumizing, etc), the rate at which your hair grows, the condition of your natural hair, and your lifestyle.
